The students at each grade level are given the NWEA-MAP and DIBELS test. The scores determine the placement in the RtI model. Tier 1 students are considered benchmark and receive core instruction. Tier 2 students spend extra time with the classroom teacher working on skills and strategies in their weak areas. Tier 3 students work with a reading interventionist and the classroom teacher four to five times a week for 30 minutes on needed skills and strategies.
